Very bad value for money. Even considering location. Service is good and knowlegdeable. The dissapointment lies in the food. menu items were not available and portions were very small. Food overall is badly seasoned. I have to very much agree with previous posts, definitely a tourist trap.
Found the staff disinterested and kind of rude. Probably could do with cracking a smile. Appearing disappointed we asked for tap water and did not order a bottle of wine. Food wasn't bad. Quite tasty. Food was presented on chipped plates. I feel that they could do with a refurbishment as the outlay is outdated. I feel that I could live all those things but not the service attitude especially as you are automatically charged for it.
Food nice , broader range of Italian food than usual pasta , pizza etc. But not so broad a menu to be out of reach of the chef, so all told nice, good service, reasonable price
It's quite easy to miss as the restaurant itself is downstairs and there's merely an awning and menu at the street level. The decor is industrial. Every so often they offer a three course regional menu with paired wines. On our recent visit it was a Sicilian menu. The food was nice, although I have enjoyed it more from their standard menu on previous visits. The wines were fantastic though. The staff are very polite and helpful.
Over priced. Small portions. Rude staff. Added 12.5% service charge on with no warning or permission. Slow service despite near empty place. Won't be going again.
I strongly recommend this place. The buffalo mozzarella is the real stuff from Italy. Having only had pizza I couldn't comment on the other dishes but mine was very nice, evidently made with fresh dough cooked in a stone oven. The ingredients are all top quality. The service is excellent and waiters are professionals. The atmosphere in the dining room is very pleasant and classy, with the kind of lighting that is relaxing but not uncomfortably dim which is sadly the norm in lesser restaurants. It's authentic Italian food by London standards and I will go again.
Perfect location for a pre-theater meal. Delicious Italian food and good service. Fairly priced for high quality food.
Orso offers a smaller choice than most Italian restaurants, but that's because every dish is fresh and cooked to the chef's perfection. Everything we ordered was great, and they manage to accommodate our large party with ease - everyone's food came out together. Recommendation: the seafood is a winner.
The food was delicious. We got it to go because we were having a romantic dinner at home for V-day but when we got there to pick up the food we were really impressed with the place, from the outside it looks a little sketchy.Overall, we really enjoyed the food, we will definetly be back and the take-out speed is awesome.
A lot of people are calling this place a tourist trap, but I really don't believe that. This is actually one of the restaurants that I visit and don't feel like I am in the busiest part of London. The service is on point, always helpful and happy to talk through the menu. The zucchini batters thins (cant remember what the menu called them) are wonderful and totally more-ish. The lunch and pre theatre menu is a total bargain for the area and the food is delicious. I think this place is a nice haven to the hustle and bustle above
Went there on a Sunday night so probably not as crowded or hectic as a theater night. Service was excellent and the food and decor very good. Very warm and comfortable. Order the beef and ricotta meatballs which are out of this world. All and all a very worthwhile and satisfying experience. Many thanks to Erica for taking such good care of us!
Went for the set dinner menu. Appetisers and starters were quite bland , only the dessert was good.
Pre-theatre meal April 2016 (though most of us ate from the a la carte). Tasty, well prepared food and efficient, unobtrusive service in a relaxing atmosphere with a friendly vibe. Loses one star due to the heat down there, it's in a basement and gets very hot, though it was full when we went. That said I would definitely go again.
The Perfect Meal for A pre theatre experience -we were running really late and only had 15 mins to spare - they turned round the most fantastic crab linguine and rocket salad - I cannot thank them enough for such as special evening!
Went here last week and they completely overcharged us for starters as a group. They slyly added on extra costs without even clarifying the price. There were supposed to be 12 starters but they gave us 4 sharers for meat eaters and individual plates for 2 vegetarians. Overall I won't be coming back.
Poor service with average food. The waitress was more interested in us purchasing water as she asked us three times if we wanted it with our dinner. Menu was fairly small, my pizza was burnt around the edges, I had a chipped plate, and we weren't offered any bread or parmesan unlike the table next to us. Small things, but when you're being charged for service you would expect better. Disappointed.
Was expecting a lot more for the money the meal cost, my girlfriend ordered a fried cod and potato meal which arrived on a tiny plate and consisted of one piece of fish on a bed of tomato sauce and one tiny new potato. The service was very rushed and literally came out five minutes after we ordered it, although not surprising considering how small it was. We left the restaurant feeling disappointed and starving.
Very poor menu not many to choose from. But good food
Ok... Some of the food was not bad. Some Decent starters. Mains were a bit of a let down. Ended up sending my Chicken back for a replacement of the same dish as the first one had piece of plastic under the crumbing. It all felt a bit forced and a little over priced.
